The Atlanta Hypertension Initiative (AHI) is an initiative focused on improving equitable hypertension control across metro Atlanta. The AHI is led by a collaborative group of national and local organizations including government, professional associations, health care and community organizations, along with other stakeholders. Together, we will engage metro Atlanta leaders across multiple sectors in a collective impact approach, harnessing the power of willing collaborators to improve hypertension control and advance health equity in Atlanta.

Why Atlanta?

Atlanta was selected due to its high prevalence of hypertension, large health disparities, and abundance of health care and community-based organizations well-positioned to effect change. The initiative aims to engage individuals, health care providers, and community organizations; connect individuals to services that support heart-healthy behaviors; and catalyze health care system quality improvement.
